It was a Thursday morning when my husband and I decided to make the 12-hour drive to McKinney, Texas from Denver, Colorado for a wedding. Along the road, we listened to some of our favorite music by Ingrid Michaelson and Bob Dylan singing “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right.” Inspired by this soundtrack and the views from the road, we thought about the future of our photo booth business and all the big ideas we had.
Making a temporary stop in Amarillo, we remarked on how happy Texans were. Everywhere we went, we were greeted with smiles and people saying, “Have a great day” as though they meant it. It had to be the sun, I figured.
Continuing on our journey, we headed to The Rosemary Barn to celebrate a young couple who were preparing to say “I do.” Once again, we were greeted with smiles as we were guided to our spot to set up our photo booth. As the night faded, we watched as the bride and groom chuckled at the speeches delivered by their friends and families. Most of all, we witnessed love.
When people grew tired of the dance floor, they came to our booth to take funny photos with their friends. The boomerang feature – that lets guests snap a bunch of photos and turn them into a video – was definitely a hit. People got into it and, after a couple of drinks, they were loose and ready to party. I literally wiped tears from my eyes, as some of the boomerangs were hilarious.
As guests continued to dance the night away, with friends and family lined up at our photo booth to capture memories, I knew that this would not be the last time we would be in Texas. Fast-forward to 2020, we now own Fun Snaps Photo Booth based in Dallas, Texas and Choice Photo Booths in Denver Colorado.
Through this journey that started with a single booth, we have witnessed many “I dos,” proud parents celebrating their kids’ accomplishments, and birthday parties. Thank you, Texas and Colorado, for growing with us.
